Introduction to Justice Ministry Team:

At Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church our Justice Ministry Team delivers education, advocacy and action opportunities on a wide range of topics, including our current priorities: anti-racism, gun violence prevention, climate and immigration.

We believe that church can be an active force and create positive change in and beyond our communities.

We also believe that partnering, collaborating and fighting for equity and inclusion in both small and big ways will create change and make a difference.

Through active protests, our annual city-wide Vigil Against Violence, letter writing campaigns, phone calls to legislators and working with partners, we provide opportunities for everyone to participate in the work of bringing justice to this neighborhood, the greater Chicago area and throughout the world.

Our partners include: Bread for the World, Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches, Community Renewal Society, Faith Community Initiative, Faith in Place, Indivisible Illinois, Live Free Illinois, More Light Presbyterians, New Life Centers, ONE Northside, Rainbow PUSH Coalition, The Resurrection Project, The Faith Community of St. Sabina, and The Sanctuary Working Group.

In worship, we voice our commitment to justice each week, stating that “… with God’s help we will strengthen the fainthearted, support the weak, and help the suffering.” If this work appeals to you, feel free to join us at any Justice Ministry Team meeting held at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Or, reach out to Shannon Cattan, our office manager, at office@lppc.org to get in touch with our team moderator.
