MUSIC PROGRAM

CHOIR

Our choirs provide spiritual support through musical selections for services and special events during the program year. Made up of a devoted, friendly and dynamic group of volunteers, our choir rehearses regularly on Monday evenings September through mid-June. We seek out diverse, exciting repertoire for our performances twice a month at Sunday morning services. Thanks to our current Musical Director's efforts, LPPC has recently been able to expand our choir's performance experiences to include larger works, classical Masses and choral masterpieces for special events and seasons such as Advent, Christmas, and Easter. Come and raise your voices in song with us at LPPC! For more information, please reach out to our Music Director, Chungers Kim: music@lppchurch.org

SOLOIST AND CANTOR

Looking for another way to share your musical gifts? In addition to our choral programming, LPPC offers year-round soloist and cantoring opportunities for our congregants. These offerings are sung by either members of the congregation or guest artists from the Chicagoland performing arts communities, and are programmed once or twice a month when the choir is not scheduled. MESSIAH SING-ALONG FESTIVAL

Come and 'exult every valley' along with LPPC during our Advent season's special event, the Messiah Sing-Along Festival! This DIY evening is held each year in early December, and is quickly becoming a Lincoln Park community favorite! No matter your musical background, community members and congregants are invited to gather together to sing the entirety of Handel's Messiah. This exciting event features a chamber orchestra, full organ accompaniment, and professional soloists and guest artists from around the Chicagoland area. Come and 'rejoice greatly' with LPPC this holiday season!

SPRING CONCERT - a.k.a. Spring Soirée of Song

LPPC celebrates the Easteride season each year with our annual musical event, the Spring Soirée of Song! This event is the highlight of our yearly musical programming at LPPC, and serves as a celebration of our greater Chicagoland communities. Scheduled between late April and mid-May, the Soirée allows LPPC to showcase artistic talents through an evening of vocal and instrumental music alike. Each year's concert boasts a unique theme, which guides the overall programming and content. Past themes include universal topics such as the four elements, Mother Earth, Unity, and re-imagined civil rights protest songs. Selections are presented by LPPC Choirs, friends of LPPC, and guest artists and professional musicians from around the Chicagoland area. Our most recent success in 2022 was a production of the Mozart Requiem, which was held in formal remembrance of those we have loved and lost. Come and join us for a celebration of spirit and song in our Spring Soirée!
